With the set up the web site I feel more on top of this class. It's amazing how things have changed since I last taught this class, last spring. I pulled out a powerpoint presentation about search engines I used back then and it is so outdated. I have had to regroup with this stuff entirely. Oh well, it keeps me thinking.

I don't feel great about how I started this class out. Students have been great, how refreshing it is to work with a group that obviously need as much "hand-holding" as my Intro classes generally do. Nearly all this students are in the semester before graduation and clearly are focused, motivated and competent. This can really alter how a teacher approaches a course. I have to adjust better to this and raise my expectations for them (and for me!!).
My shakey beginning seems, in part, to do with all the changes that have occured with the content, the Internet. I have kept up with things by reading and collecting materials but I haven't wrapped my head about the big picture and the implications. However, I am doing this now and am feeling my vision for the course is gelling. It's fun.
