I have to say that this group of students is very good spirited about this course as well as the difficulties of squeezing it into the summer. I'm not completely happy with the compromises that I have had to make to get this course to flow. However, this would have been even harder if the students weren't so positive. It's been interesting to see how we all - me included - have handled the stress of this session. It's been exhausting and I am not at my best when I am tired. I like to be the best teacher I can be but don't always feel that way with this course. But I'm not giving up.

The afternoons are deadly. The course too compressed, we blaze by stuff, I talk too much and all in a hot, stuffy basement room. It's a beautiful summer day outside and we are looking at a computer screen or a video screen or an overhead screen. It's crazy. I have to blow this apart and get to more experimental stuff. Something, but the experiments are really making sense because they are too open ended. I have to make this work.
